Why did you decide to study math/science/engineering?

I enjoyed mathematics; I wanted to be challenged, and I wanted a career with a good future.

What inspired you to work for NASA and how did you get hired?

My inspiration came from an uncle. He encouraged me to apply for the NASA Cooperative Education Program. I took his advice, and was hired by NASA to work for three alternating semesters while still in college. Upon graduation, I was offered a full-time position.

Discuss previous positions held and how they led up to your current position.

I am currently working as a System Engineer with a group that I worked with during my co-op period.

What advice would you give students about how to prepare for a career with NASA?

Pursue an engineering degree. Look into the NASA educational programs available to both high school and college students.
