Hometown: El Paso, Texas

Colleges/Degrees

Florida Institute of Technology, Bachelor of Science in Physics

Why did you decide to study math/science/engineering?

Always had interest since I was young.

What inspired you to work for NASA and how did you get hired?

I have always had an interest in science and the space program. I attended a college created to feed KSC.

Discuss previous positions held and how they led up to your current position.

I worked as a Nuclear Test Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding working on the nuclear reactors of US Navy aircraft carriers and the new Virginia class submarines. I then came to KSC and worked Orbiter Electrical for United Space Alliance (USA) before switching over to NASA.

What advice would you give students about how to prepare for a career with NASA?

Study science and mathematics, love what you do but be prepared for a dynamic environment.
